Football Elections in Kenya

The race for the top football positions in Kenya in the August 13th elections has taken a new twist.
Of all the 39 candidates who intend to vie, only nine have finished all the requirements for one to vie.

Gor Mahia Football Club Chairman, a Nairobi based Lawyer, Mr. Ambrose Rachier happens to be one of the nine. Mr. Rachier whose club is now in its peak performance
in the current Kenya Premier League season criticized those who are in office and still ant to vie for the positions saying they are to blame for National football teams poor performance since 2009 that have seen the country drop in FIFA rankings fro a best position 68 in 2010 to the current 130 position in the arena of soccer.

Speaking during a breakfast press briefing on 27th July 2011, Mr Rachier went ahead to [prove wrong his critics who thought that since his friend is one of the Directors of the organization that is going to manage he elections, he would be favoured.

Mr. Rachier said the man in question has been his friend since 1975 but added that he is one of the few people who respect the professional ways of doing things in Kenya. He said he has total trust hat the body will deliver without fear, biasness or favour. He termed those who were spreading the rumours as cowards who had sensed defeat in the forth coming elections and dared them not to step down.

Many people who thought that Mr. Rachier had been given a free nomination paper were also treated to a shock when he showed those present a 5, 000 Kenya shillings receipt he paid for the nomination paper.

Rachier has declared that he is officially in the race and will launch his bid officially on Saturday.
